Guava Milk Cake

 INGREDIENTS:
  • Maida/all purpose flour - 2 cups
  • Brown Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Egg - 1 no
  • Melted Butter - 1cup
  • Baking powder- 1/4 tsp
  • Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Salt - 1/4 tsp
  • Vanilla essence - 1/4 tsp
  • Guavas - 8 small
METHOD:
  •  Take 6 or 8 small guavas.
  • Wash the guavas well.
 
  • Peel and chop the guavas and blend in a blender until creamy and smooth. 
  • Strain through a fine-mesh sieve over a large bowl, pressing down on the solids in the strainer with a large spoon to extract every last bit of juice.

  • Pour into a glass and keep it aside.
  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease the pan well with butter.
  • In a large bowl, sift together flour,baking soda and baking powder.
  • Add butter to this and mix well.
  • Now add brown sugar and continue to mix for 5 minutes.
  • Add beaten eggs and mix well. 
  • Add vanilla extract and mix well.
  • Mix and whisk the flour and creamed ingredients.
  • Add warm milk, mix well.
  • Now add guava juice to this and whisk in a clock wise direction, very well.
  • Pour the batter into the cake pan and level the batter.
  • Bake for 40 minutes or until done. 
  • You can insert a wooden pick in the center of the cake to test if the cake is fully baked. 
  • Cool in pan for 20 minutes. 
  • Then invert cake onto cooling rack to cool completely.
  • Enjoy the Guava cake with hot Tea.
