Decorating your home with Paper crafts are really very simple, cheap, and creative alternative ways with handmade or machine cut flowers , butterflies, fruits , animals, or anything you like. Handmade wall decorations add style and personality to interior decorating and staging home interiors at no cost.

I cut out green lily pads, blue Water lilies,  white swans, light green frogs , Branches, Flowers and sun  using Silhouette Cameo Electronic Cutting Tool.

I made the sky, mountain and water backgrounds using  different color tissue papers.

Paper-cuts are chiefly used as decorations. I really enjoy paper crafts for several reasons. First, there are so many things I can create from a few pieces of colorful paper or card stock. Another reason is paper crafts are economical and easy to store.  And paper crafts range from simple to complex. We can  use recycled papers, tissue papers, magazines, wrappers, envelopes and cardboard containers for paper crafts.

Seed Bead Medallion Pendants

I came to know about The New England Bead Company jewelry making classes from my  friend Aswathy Vinu. She like  jewelries, while browsing she noticed the  New England Bead Company site  and came to know about the medallion Pendant making class and she informed me about that. We both like very much the medallion Pendant which shown in the site ( a model of the medallion which we can make in the Pendant making class)  and we  wanted to make a medallion Pendant like that. I didn’t  know the techniques of Seed bead pendant making. So we both decided to go for the Seed Bead Medallion Pendant making class ( 3 hours class).

We are so excited about the Pendant making. The New England Bead Company offers jewelry making supplies for sale and provides jewelry making classes, it  is located in Ashland Massachusetts.  This bead store has everything the beginner or advanced jewelry designer could want.

Seed bead Pendant (1)

I made this medallion with a combination of white and gold seed beads, Opal AB Preciosa bicones and 8mm x 5mm red rondelle crystals. For the center bead I chose a gold diamond cut metallic bead.

Anita Kratzsch, the owner of The New England Bead Company is a great jewelry designer, very knowledgeable and experienced instructor who always gives you the attention you need. Anita was incredibly helpful and patient with us.

My friend Aswathy Vinu made the below beautiful pendant with a hand carved cinnabar bead. Stark white and red seed beads surround her center bead. She further enhanced it with clear and bronze rondelle crystals.

Traditional Jhumkis using paper quilling Tutorial

This cute and stunning earring is made up of White color paper and Black round-cut clear cubic zirconia stones. This jhumka is light-weight and perfectly matching to those who love to be different.

    White Quilled Jhumkas (6)

    Supplies needed:

    • Earring posts and ear backs – 1 pair
    • Eye pins – 1 pair
    • Paper Strips (desired colors )
    • Black round-cut clear cubic zirconia stones chain
    • 4mm daisy Spacer Beads – 2 nos.
    • 4mm flower shaped  Spacer Beads – 2 nos.
    • Gold plated flat cable chain – 2 inch piece
    • Craft glue

    White Quilled Jhumkas (5)

      Tools Needed:

      • Wire Cutter
      • Round Nose Pliers
      • Flat Nose Pliers
      • Quilling needle or tool

    White Quilled Jhumkas (3)

    METHOD:

    Step 1:

Insert 2 paper strips together  in a slotted needle.

    Step 2:

Keep quilling to make a tight coil. Glue the end so that the coil is secure.  Now your ear stud base is ready.

    Step 3:

Apply a coat of fabric glue on both sides of the ear stud base. Allow it to dry.

    Step 4:

Then insert a paper quilling strip in a slotted needle. Keep quilling till you make a tight coil of the desired size . You have to glue together the paper strips ends  before quilling the coil  so that the coil is secure.

    Step 5:

Once done, glue the end of the paper and let it dry.

    Step 6:

Slide and remove the coil from the slotted tool, Then  gently push the center end of the rolled paper upwards in such a way that it brings out a conical shape. Now with the help of the needle tool and your fingers, set the shape (cup shape ) properly. Make sure there is some room in the cone's tip, to insert the eye-pin.

    Step 7:

Apply a small amount of fabric glue on the inside of the cup shape and the outside. Allow it to dry. The structure will be secure now.

    White Quilled Jhumkas (2)

    Step 8:

You can apply  clear color nail polish in the cup shape and ear stud base, that will give a glossy shine.

    Step 9:

Now place one 4mm flower shaped  Spacer Bead on top of the cup or cone shaped paper Jhumka base and   insert the eye-pin on the center of the  flower shaped  Spacer Bead to the  narrow hole of the Jhumka, in such a way that the `eye' sits inside of the cone, and bend the pin's other end from the top of the cone to steady it.

    Step 10 :

Using round nose pliers make a loop at the top. Use wire cutters to trim off any excess wire after making the loop. Before you close the loop, you can insert a small piece of Gold plated flat cable chain in the loop then close the loop well.

    Step 11:

Apply some glue at the end of the cup shape and arrange Black round-cut clear cubic zirconia stones there. Your Jhumka  is ready. Keep it aside.

    Step 12:

Take the paper stud base and Glue a 4mm daisy Spacer Bead on a at the center of the small  coil and glue a Black round-cut clear cubic zirconia stone at the center of the daisy spacer bead. Now your ear stud is ready.

    Step 13:

Then  apply glue on an  earring post and attach the small coil’s back end to the earring post. It has to hold on well… allow it to dry completely.

    Step 14:

Now insert the other end of Gold plated flat cable chain (one end is attached with the cup shaped paper Jhumka ) in the ear stud post. Advantage of this method of Jhumka making is, you can wear stud alone if you wish or both the stud and hangings together as traditional Jhumkis.  (Separating and joining together  the ear stud and hanging is easy according to your occasions and dresses).

    Step 15:

Repeat steps above for the other earrings piece and make your pair of quilling jhumka earrings.
