Rice Kheer/Ari Payasam

INGREDIENTS:
  • Milk – 2 cups
  • Water – 1 cups
  • Rice – 1 cup (I used broken red rice)
  • Sugar – 1/2 cup
  • Cardamom – 2,3 pods crushed
  • Cashew nuts – 8 (fried in ghee)
  • Raisins - 8 (fried in ghee)
  • Ghee - 2 tsp
METHOD:
  • Wash and cook the rice in a pressure cooker by adding 2 cups of water.
  • When the rice is well cooked add milk , sugar, cardamom and 1 tsp of ghee into it and stir well.
  • Allow milk to boil.
  • The Payasam is ready. Before serving garnish the rice kheer with fried cashew nuts and raisins.
