Prawn Curry
INGREDIENTS:
- Shrimps - 200gms
- Onion (chopped) - 1 no
- Potato (peeled and diced) - 1 no
- Tomato (chopped) - 1 no
- Green chillies (sliced) - 2 nos
- Garlic paste 1/2 tsp
- Ginger (chopped) - 1tsp
- Coriander powder
- Garam masala - 1 tsp
- Chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
- Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
- Curry leaves - few
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- Salt to taste
METHOD:
- In a pressure cooker add potatoes and water boil it for 4-5 whistles. Keep aside.
- Devein,wash and clean prawns.
- Marinate shrimps with 1/2 tsp chili powder , 1/2 coriander powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala, 1/8 tsp of turmeric powder and salt. Keep it aside for 15 mins.
- Heat oil in a pan, add prawns fry for 3-4 minutes and keep aside.
- Splutter mustard seeds in the same pan.
- Add ginger, garlic, green chilies, curry leaves and onions. Saute onions till they become translucent.
- Now add chopped tomatoes in it.
- Grind grated coconut with cumin powder,salt,remaining red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and garam masala .Make a fine paste with them.
- Now add the coconut paste in the pan and mix it well and stir occasionally.
- Now add boiled potatoes and mix it well.
- Add 1 cup of water and prawns stir cook for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot with rice.
