- Toor dal-1 cup
- Onion(chopped)-1/2cup
- Green chillies( chopped) - 2 nos
- Shredded coconut-1/4 cup
- Turmeric powder-1/4tsp
- Chilly powder-1tsp
- Salt-to taste
- Coconut oil-1tbsp
- Dry red chillies-2
- Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves-1 spring
METHOD:
- Soak dal for 2 - 3 hours. Drain well.
- Cook the toor dal in a pressure cooker.
- Heat oil in a pan
- Splutter mustard seeds and saute dry red chilies and curry leaves.
- Add cooked toor dal, onions, turmeric powder, chilly powder, coconut and salt.
- Mix well.
- Sprinkle a little water on top and cover it with a lid.
- Cook on a low flame for about 5minutes.
- Then open it and simmer it until it is dry and separated from another.
