Parippu Curry

  • Split moong dal/cherupayar parippu  - 1/2cup
  • Turmeric powder  - 1/4 tsp
  • Grated Coconut  - 1/2 cup
  • Cumin seeds  - 1/8 tsp
  • Garlic  -  2 pods
  • Green chilli  - 2 nos
  • Ghee  -  2 tsp
  • Curry leaves -  4 or 5
  • Salt – To tasteparippu Curry (4)METHOD:
  • Pressure cook the dal with enough water,turmeric powder and salt.
  • Cook for three , four whistles or until done. Mash it well.
  • Make a paste of coconut,cumin,garlic and green chillies.
  • Add this ground paste to the cooked dal. If you feel that the curry is too thick for you, add a little water.
  • Taste and add more salt if required.
  • Cook on low - medium till its done.Don’t allow Parippu Curry to boil.
  • Add ghee and curry leaves.
  • Serve with rice and pappadam.parippu Curry (5)
