INGREDINETS:
- Chicken – 1 lb, cut into small pieces and wash properly
- Onion, big – 1, thinly sliced
- Green chillies – 4, sliced lengthwise
- Tomato – 1, sliced
- Ginger, chopped – 1” piece
- Garlic pod – 1, crushed
- Black pepper powder – 1/4 tsp
- Fennel Seeds (perinjeerakam) – 1/4 tsp
- Cloves – 2 nos
- cardamom pods – 2 nos
- Cinnamon, crushed – 1” piece
- Chicken Chilly masala – 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Chopped Coriander leaves – 2 Tbsp
- Salt – to taste
- Oil – 2 Tbsp
- Mustard seeds – 1/8 tsp
METHOD::
- Clean well and chop chicken to small bit pieces. wash it well again.
- Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan.
- Splutter mustard seeds in it and add sliced onion , Grren chillies, cinnamon sticks,cloves, fennel powder and sauté well until onion become golden color .
- Add chopped ginger and crushed garlic and sauté for a minute.
- Now add turmeric powder , Chilly chicken powder or Meat masala, black pepper powder, salt and stir well.
- Make sure there is enough oil, so that nothing sticks.
- Now add chopped tomatoes. and sauté until it is cooked.
- Add chicken pieces in the pan.
- Cover and simmer until the chicken is tender.
- If you want, sprinkle garam masala powder .
- Make sure that chicken pieces cooked well , then remove it from flame.
- Check for salt .
- This is thick Spicy Chicken Masala Curry . You can adjust the consistency of this curry by adding warm water.
- Transfer your delicious thick Spicy Chicken Curry to a serving bowl.
- Garnish curry with chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rice, appam, chappathi , or Kappa puzhukku
NOTE:
If you don’t have cloves, cinnamon, and fennel powder, you can use 1/2 tsp of Garam masala ansd 1/2 tsp of Meat masala.
