No need to throw away the pistachio shells. You can make lots of beautiful crafts like lotus, five or six petal flowers, peacock, Wall hangings , Candle holders, Chandeliers, with pista shells. You simply need to color each of the pistachio shells.
I made this Pista shell Love Heart as a wedding anniversary gift for my Husband on our 3rd Wedding Anniversary.
MATERIALS:
- Cut a symmetrical heart from paper, then cut out the middle, leaving a heart-shaped ring with inch-wide edges.
- Trace pattern onto a cardboard, and two red or Maroon thick cardstock paper.
- Cut shapes out, using household glue, attach one red or maroon cardstock heart shape on top of cardboard heart shape , and another red or maroon cardstock heart on the back of the cardboard heart. ( You will get a thick base)
- Now glue pistachio shells to the red heart base, beginning at the V-shaped top of the heart and pointing the open ends of the shells outward. Cover the entire cardboard heart surface and let them dry.
- Paint all the pista shells and let it dry.
- Decorate 3D Pista Shell Heart with white beads.
The light color of pistachio shells allows them to absorb paint well, and their uniform shape makes it possible to stack and layer them.
3D Pistachio Love Heart looks very colorful and attractive. You can make pistachio flowers or heart or pen holders, brush holders, or decorate flower vases in several different colors.
You can frame it or can be use it as a frame and hang it in your living room as a show piece or use it in many other ways you want.
In this project, I attached a small picture hanger on the back of the Pistachio heart, and loop ribbon through for hang it in our drawing room.
The versatility of pistachio shells as a craft item allows a person using them to explore his /her creativity.
