Uzhunnu vada/Urad dal vada
INGREDIENTS:
- Black gram(Uzhunnuparippu) - 1 cup
- Onion(chopped) - 1 no
- Salt - As reqd
- Green chillies(chopped) - 3nos
- Carrot(grated)-1 no
- Pepper - 1 tsp
- Curry leaves - A few
- Ginger(chopped) - 1" piece
- Baking powder - 1/4 tsp
METHOD:
- Soak the dal in water for an hour.
- Grind it without adding water
- Add salt and grind again.
- Add the rest of the ingredients to this ground dal and mix well.
- Pat hands with water.
- Make balls off the paste and make patties.
- Make a hole at the centreof the Uzhunnu Vada patties.
- Deep fry Uzhunnu Vada in oil till golden color.
- Serve Uzhunnu Vada hot with chutney or sambhar.
