INGREDIENTS:
- Nethili fish - 2 cup
- Onion - 2 nos
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- Tomato - 1 nos
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Red chilly powder - 1 tbsp
- Pepper powder - 1/4 tbsp
- Chopped Coriander leaves (optional) - 2 tbsp
- Salt to taste
METHOD:
- Wash and clean the fish. Mix it along with turmeric powder,red chilly powder, pepper powder and allow it to marinate for 15 to 30 mins.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish. Don't crowd the pan with more fish. Fry it till it become brown color.Remove it from heat and keep it aside.
- Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan, add chopped onion and fry to translucent.
- Add ginger garlic paste, chopped tomato and fry until done.
- Add a pinch of turmeric powder, enough salt, 1/4 tsp of red chilly powder and 1/4 of pepper powder.
- Mix well. Allow to cook by adding ½ cup water.Allow to form a thick gravy.
- Now add fried fish, combine well and cook it covered in the masala.
- Stir it gently by drizzling oil to the sides.
- Once the fish absorbs all the curry to it, and turns thick consistency, turn off the flame.
- Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
