Coriander Chutney

INGREDIENTS:
  • Coriander leaves - 3 or 4 strands
  • Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Split channa dal (Kadalaparippu) -2 Tbsp
  • Green chillies - 3 nos 
  • Garlic cloves - 2 small
  • Curry leaves  - 1 sprig
  • Tamarind extract/Lime juice -  1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds -  1/4 tsp
  • Dried Red Chillies - 2
  • Shallots (sliced thinly) - 5nos
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil  - 2 tsp
METHOD:
  • Grind all the ingredients together except Oil, mustard seeds, 3 sliced shallot, and dried red chillies, into a fine paste.
  • Transfer it into a bowl.
  • Heat oil in a pan and allow mustard seeds to splutter,throw dried red chillies and remaining sliced shallots.
  • Fry it until shallots turn brown.
  • Switch off the heat and pour the seasoning over the ground paste.
  • Mix well and serve.
