Tapioca(Kappa) Ularthu

 INGREDIENTS:
  • Tapioca(Kappa) - 1 no (Cleaned and cut into medium pieces)
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Garlic - 4 cloves
  • Small onion/Shallots - 5 nos.
  • Green bell pepper (chopped)- 1/4 part 
  • Ginger - 1" piece
  • Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 stalks
  • Coconut oil - 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
METHOD:
  • Cook the kappa adding enough water,turmeric powder and salt.
  • Drain the excess water. Keep it aside.
  • Crush the small onion, unpeeled garlic and ginger.
  • Heat oil in a pan or kadali. 
  • Splutter mustard seeds. 
  • Now add crushed small onions, crushed garlic pods and ginger in it and saute well until it turns brown.
  • Add chopped green bell pepper in it and saute well.
  • Reduce the flame and add pinch of turmeric powder and saute well.
  • Add Red chilly powder and curry leaves and mix well.
  • Now add little salt and mix well.
  • Add chopped tapioca pieces.
  • Stir well for few minutes till the all mixture mix well.
  • Remove it from fire and serve it hot.
  • Kerala fish curry is the best combinations with Kappa Ularthu.
  • Kappa Ularthu is a perfect tea time snack too.
