In a 9” Plastic Canvas (also known as craft mesh) I completed this work using embroidery stitches, different colors of ribbons and white beads.
In this work, I used the basic chain stich with blue color yarn and green color tread. Chain Stitch is one of the most ancient of stitches. It is a versatile hand embroidery stitch that can be used to outline and to fill spaces. There are many variations on the stitch --- Open chain stitch, Double chain stitch, Heavy chain stitch, Rosette chain stitch, Cable chain stitch,Raised chain stitches, Crested chain stitch, Checkered chain stitch, ----and many more.
The flowers on this Plastic canvas were made with wired Golden and Pumpkin Orange colored Ribbon Rose (folded, wrapped and stitched), Non wired Orange color ribbon roses ( folded, wrapped and stitched), maroon nylon ribbon flowers ( French knot stitch), Red Ribbon Rose bud (This stitch can be work with any width of ribbon and the stitches should be longer than the width of the ribbon), Multi colored, wired nylon ribbon petals ( 3 Petals , straight stitch) and violet ribbon flowers. In this, the Violet flowers are made as Gathered Ribbon Blossom flowers, these beautiful flowers can be made with any number of petals. When dividing the ribbon into evenly spaced sections- each section with form each petal. We can fill the center of these flowers with beads or knots. Here I used white beads for violet and maroon flowers.
