Black Apricot with Lemon Juice

Fruity drinks are sweet and refreshing; especially during the hot summer season.Previous day I tried apricot - lemon juice. It is really healthy, tasty and easy to make.

Apricots are so versatile that they can be eaten raw or cooked, dried, canned, or frozen,and can make fresh  juice also. Apricots are excellent sources of nutrients such as Carotenes and vitamin-A , that  promote good vision. It also contains vitamin-C, another natural anti-oxidant. Vitamin-C helps body develop resistance against infectious agents and scavenge harmful oxygen free radicals. Also contains riboflavin (B2) and niacin (B3).Apricots are a good source of fiber, which has a wealth of benefits including preventing constipation and digestive conditions such as diverticulosis.Apricots are  also an excellent source of minerals such as potassium, iron, zinc, calcium,  manganese, traces of sodium, cobalt and bromine. Potassium is a heart-healthy mineral; an important component of cell and body fluids that help regulate heart rate and blood pressure.

Caution:

Fresh apricots contain a small amount of oxalates.  people with a history of calcium oxalate-containing kidney stones should not consume too much of this fruit.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Fresh apricots, peeled,  pitted and sliced – 6 nos
  • Lemon Juice – 2 Tbsp
  • Sugar /Honey – 3 Tbsp
  • Water – 3 cupsblack apricot juice (3)METHOD:
  • Wash the apricots well. Peel and chop them.
  • Place all ingredients in a blender /juicer and blend well for 30 seconds.
  • Chill in refrigerator or Pour into glasses and enjoy.
