Jan Hagels

INGREDINETS:

  • All purpose flour – 1 cup
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Butter  - 1/4 cup
  • Brown Sugar – 1/2 cup
  • Vanilla – 1/2 tsp
  • Egg – 1 no
  • Sliced Almonds – 1/4 to 1/2 cup
  • Milk – 1/2 cup

METHOD:

  • Grease a 9.6 x 9.6 x 1.9 inches square pan and keep it aside.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
  • Stir together all purpose flour  and salt.
  • In a large mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds.
  • Add brown sugar and vanilla and beat well until fluffy.
  • Add egg and beat well.
  • Now add flour mixture into the brown sugar mixture and mix well.
  • Add milk and mix well.
  • Pour the thick batter to the greased pan.
  • Sprinkle sliced almonds over all.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until the top turns golden brown and a tooth pick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Remove it from the Oven.

  • Cut into 2 inch diamond or triangle shape while warm.
  • Allow it to cool completely ( 15 minutes)
  • Remove  your delicious Jan Hagels  from pan and serve.
