INGREDINETS:
- All purpose flour – 1 cup
- Salt – a pinch
- Butter - 1/4 cup
- Brown Sugar – 1/2 cup
- Vanilla – 1/2 tsp
- Egg – 1 no
- Sliced Almonds – 1/4 to 1/2 cup
- Milk – 1/2 cup
METHOD:
- Grease a 9.6 x 9.6 x 1.9 inches square pan and keep it aside.
- Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
- Stir together all purpose flour and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds.
- Add brown sugar and vanilla and beat well until fluffy.
- Add egg and beat well.
- Now add flour mixture into the brown sugar mixture and mix well.
- Add milk and mix well.
- Pour the thick batter to the greased pan.
- Sprinkle sliced almonds over all.
- Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until the top turns golden brown and a tooth pick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Remove it from the Oven.
- Cut into 2 inch diamond or triangle shape while warm.
- Allow it to cool completely ( 15 minutes)
- Remove your delicious Jan Hagels from pan and serve.
