INGREDIENTS:
- All purpose flour – 3/4 cup
- Sugar – 4 Tbsp
- Egg – 1 no
- Butter, at room temperature – 4 Tbsp (1/4 cup)
- Vanilla essence – 1/2 tsp
- Salt – 1/8 tsp
- Strawberry jam – 3 Tbsp
METHOD:
- Premeasure and layout all the ingredients in your work place to make Strawberry Buttons.
- Line a large rectangular baking tray with parchment paper. Keep it aside.
- Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
- In a large bowl, with an electric mixer on medium speed beat butter and sugar until smooth.
- Now add egg and vanilla and beat until well blended.
- Stir in flour and salt and beat just until dough comes together.
- Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place them about 1 inch apart on buttered or parchment lined baking tray. Press your thumb gently into the center of each cookie to make an indentation.
- Bake Strawberry Buttons until lightly browned, about 20 minutes. If you are baking more than one baking tray at a time, switch baking tray positions halfway through baking.
- Let cookies cool on baking tray for 5 minutes, then use a wide spatula to transfer them to racks to cool completely.
- Spoon about 1/4 teaspoon Strawberry jam into the center of each cooled cookie. Actually I put a scoop of Strawberry jam in the center of each cookies, and baked them.
- Your Strawberry Buttons are ready to serve.
