Green Peas Masala

INGREDIENTS:
  • Green Peas - 1cup ( I used frozen peas, can also use fresh peas)
  • Onion (chopped) - 1no (medium)
  • Tomato (chopped) - 1 no
  • Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
  • Red chillies powder - 1/2 tsp (acc to taste)
  • Salt to taste
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp 
  • Meat masala powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Coconut milk - 1/4 cup
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) - 2 tbsp 
  • Oil/Butter/ Ghee - 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Green chillies (sliced) - 2(acc to taste)
  • Giner (chopped) - 1" piece 
METHOD:
  • Heat oil/butter/ghee in a pan and splutter mustard seeds in it and add cumin powder, green chillies and chopped ginger and saute for a minute. 
  • Now add onion, stir it till it becomes transparent. 
  • Add chopped tomato to it and mix it well. 
  • Add a cup of water, turmeric powder, garam masala powder,meat masala powder  salt and red chilli powder and let it boil for another 5 minutes. 
  • Now add the green peas to it and mix it well and let everything cook for 10 minutes. Depending upon how long peas takes to cook. Frozen peas took 7 minutes to fully cook and mix with the other ingredients.
  • Now add the coconut milk and let it mix for another 2 minutes. 
  • Turn off the stove and garnish Green Peas Masala with coriander leaves. 
  • You can serve it hot with Chapathi, Poori, Naan  or Appam.
