White Chutney-South Indian Style

ChutneyINGREDIENTS:
  • Grated coconut - 1 cup
  • Coconut oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 14 tsp
  • Onion - 8
  • Tamarind - a small gooseberry size
  • Green chilly - 6
  • Salt - adjust to taste
  • Chopped ginger - 1" piece
  • Curry leaves - 5 nos

  • Grind grated coconut, onion and green chilly, chopped ginger,tamarind and salt together.
  • Mix this with a little water.
  • Heat oil in a pan and allow mustard seeds to splutter in it.
  • Now pour the ground mixture into that pan.
  • Allow chutney to cook for 1 or 2 minutes.
  • Don't allow this to boil and take back.
  • Serve hot with Idli or Dosa.
