നവരാത്രി ദിവസങ്ങളിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ മൂന്ന് നാളുകളില്‍   ദേവിയെ പാർവ്വതിയായും അടുത്ത മൂന്ന് നാള്‍ ലക്ഷ്മിയായും അവസാനത്തെ മൂന്ന് ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ സരസ്വതിയായും സങ്കൽപ്പിച്ച് പൂജ നടത്തുന്നു.

Athappookkalam with handmade Paper flowers 

I am so excited to share these Athapoo pics with you. I made some paper flowers and glued  them on a round cardboard cutout to make these Onam blossoms.  

It took me two days to complete this. Creating each flower for this arrangement is time consuming but satisfying.  

I am thankful to my beloved husband Hareesh for supporting and encouraging my creativity.

ആവശ്യമുള്ള സാധനങ്ങള്‍

1. കട്ടിയുള്ള വെള്ള കാര്‍ഡ്‌സ്റ്റോക്ക്‌ പേപ്പര്‍- 1 (പേപ്പറിനെ ആവശ്യമുള്ള വലിപ്പത്തില്‍ വട്ടമായി വെട്ടിയെടുക്കുകയോ,ചതുരാകൃതിയിലോ,സമ ചതുരാകൃതിയിലോ തന്നെ ഉപയോഗിക്കുകയും ആവാം)
2. പൂവിന്‍റെ ഇതളുകള്‍ വെട്ടിയെടുക്കാനായി ഇഷ്ട്ടമുള്ള നിറത്തിലുള്ള പേപ്പര്‍ - 1
3. പച്ച പേപ്പര്‍ ¼ ഇഞ്ച്‌ വീതിയിലും ആവശ്യമുള്ളത്ര( 6/7/8) ഇഞ്ച്‌ നീളത്തിലും പൂവിന്‍റെ തണ്ടിനായി വെട്ടി എടുത്തത്‌
4. ക്രാഫ്റ്റ് ഗ്ലൂ
5. കത്രിക
6. വലിയ വെള്ള മുത്ത് -1 

പൂവുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന വിധം

• ഇഷ്ട്മുള്ള നിറത്തിലുള്ള പേപ്പറില്‍ നിന്ന് ചിത്രം1-ല്‍ കാണുന്നത് പോലെ 6 ലവ്വ്‌/ഹാര്‍ട്ട് ഷെയ്പ്പ്സ് വെട്ടിയെടുക്കുക.

• അതിനെ ഓരോന്നിനെയും ചിത്രം 2 ല്‍ കാണുന്നതു പോലെ നെടുകെ നേര്‍ പകുതിയായി മടക്കുക.

• ഇത്തരത്തില്‍ മടക്കിയെടുത്ത ഓരോ ഇതളിന്‍റെയും ഒരു വശത്തു മാത്രം പശ തേച്ചു,അവ ഓരോന്നിനെയും ചിത്രം 3 ല്‍ കാണുന്നത് പോലെ വെള്ള കാര്‍ഡ്‌സ്റ്റോക്ക്‌ പേപ്പറില്‍ ഒട്ടിച്ചു വച്ച് പൂവുണ്ടാക്കുക. ചിത്രം 4 നോക്കുക.

• തണ്ടിനായി വെട്ടിയെടുത്ത ¼ ഇഞ്ച്‌ വീതിയിലുള്ള പച്ച പേപ്പര്‍ നെടുകെ രണ്ടായി മടക്കി ചിത്രം 5-ല്‍ കാണുന്നതു പോലെപൂവിനോട് ചേര്‍ത്ത് ഒട്ടിച്ചു വയ്ക്കുക. 

• ഇനി പൂവിന്റെ നടുവിലായി ഭംഗിയുള്ള ഒരു റൌണ്ട് ബീഡ് കൂടെ ഒട്ടിച്ചു വയ്ക്കാം (ചിത്രം 6). 

• ഇത്തരത്തില്‍ എത്ര സ്നേഹപ്പൂക്കള്‍ വേണമെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള്‍ക്കുണ്ടാക്കാം. ഈ പൂവിനെ ഫ്രെയിം ചെയ്തു വാള്‍ ഡെക്കര്‍ ആക്കി വയ്ക്കുകയോ ഗ്രീറ്റിംഗ് കാര്‍ഡ്‌ ആയി ഉപയോഗിക്കുകയോ, ടേബിള്‍ ഡെക്കര്‍ ആയി ഉപയോഗിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാം (ചിത്രം 7).

DIY Paint Chip Home Decor

This DIY craft is extremely easy. Everybody can do it beautifully.  I saw these Behr paint chips at Home Depot, they reminded me of flower petals.  So I grabbed a handful of each color & decided to make something beautiful out of them. I made a beautiful floral door hanging from Behr paint chips. 

what you will need :

1. Behr paint chips  (free at Home Depot)
2. Glue
3. Old CD
4. Paper punch flowers – 2 ( different size  and different color flowers)
5. 1 – inch round ( for flower center)

METHOD:

Glue Behr paint chips in the old CD as shown in the  picture below.

• Now glue the paper punch flowers and 1 – inch round at the center of the design. DONE!!!

• Attach a cotton thread on the back side of the floral design and hang it on the handle of your door.

It is very  cheap, easy and such a beautiful home décor idea.

DIY–Paper Craft: Peacock Love

This beautiful Peacock love  paper craft is a perfect Wedding anniversary gift or Valentine’s day gift.  

I download this  beautiful peacock GSD file from http://einnej.typepad.com/einnej/ and cut this file using Silhouette Cameo Electronic Cutting Tool.

First I cut out each of the pieces to make two  peacocks  in desired color cardstock papers. ( I cut out 2 copy of peacock body in both black and blue color cardstocks). Using household glue, attach one blue cardstock peacock body on top of the black peacock body. then I just arranged all the small pieces (feather, eyes, etc.) of each peacock together in place to make sure that it looks good before glue it.

I glued all the piece in place. Then I decorated peacock feathers with Red Sequins, white and gold seed beads.

I glued each peacock in a white 12*12 Linen Cardstock in desired style then I glued the Linen Cardstock to a 14*14 inch  thick cardboard ( so I got a thick base). Then I framed this beautiful picture using old vinyl blind (glued vinyl blind in all sides of the cardboard for framing the picture).
