Uzhunnu vada/Urad dal vada

INGREDIENTS:
  • Black gram(Uzhunnuparippu) - 1 cup
  • Onion(chopped) - 1 no
  • Salt - As reqd
  • Green chillies(chopped) - 3nos
  • Carrot(grated)-1 no
  • Pepper - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - A few
  • Ginger(chopped) - 1" piece
  • Baking powder - 1/4 tsp
METHOD:
  • Soak the dal in water for an hour.
  • Grind it without adding water 
  • Add salt and grind again.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients to this ground dal and mix well.
  • Pat hands with water.
  • Make balls off the paste and make patties.
  • Make a hole at the centreof  the Uzhunnu Vada patties.
  • Deep fry Uzhunnu Vada in oil till golden color.
  • Serve Uzhunnu Vada hot with chutney or sambhar.
