Chilli Dosa

INGREDIENTS:
  • Raw Rice - 1 cup (200 gms)
  • Chilly Powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - 3 cups (more or less)
  • Oil - 2 tsp ( for making dosas)
METHOD:
  • Wash and soak rice for 2 hrs.
  • Grind it well to fine paste.
  • Now add red chilly powder, salt enough water and grind again.
  • The batter should be little thin.
  • The batter for this dosas should be watery and the 3 cups water is perfect for the thin, crispy dosas.
  • Also note that you are not going to spread the dosa on the tawa as you do the plain/traditional dosas.
  • Now check for the salt.
  • Heat a tawa, apply oil in it.
  • Take a ladleful of batter and pour it in center of tawa, from a little height.
  • The batter spreads by itself throughout the tawa as Rava dosas do.

  • Now lower the heat and cover it with a lid. If you want you can spread 1 tsp of oil around the dosa.
  • Let it cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Remove the lid.
  • At this time you can remove the dosa from the tawa without any effort.
  • Flip the dosa. If you want, this time also you can spread little oil around the dosa.
  • Let it cook for a minute.
  • Transfer the tasty chilly dosa to a serving plate.
  • Repeat the process with the remaining batter.
  • Make sure to serve them hot.
  • No need to prepare any curry for this dosa. If needed you can have it with Coriander chutney or any pickle.
