Green Chillies (sliced) - 2
Onion(sliced) - 1
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Red Chili Powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp

Black Pepper Powder - 1/4tsp
Garam masala powder-1/4 tsp
Meat masala - 1/4 tsp (optional)

METHOD:
For Anchovies(Netholi) fish fry:
For Anchovies(Netholi) fish fry:
- Clean the Netholi fish and cut / pinch off the head and tail part.
- Wash it well.
- Mix it along with the ingredients in For Anchovies(Netholi) fish fry and allow it to marinate for 15 to 30 mins.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish.
- Fry in medium flame in small batches, ( 5 or 6 fish at a time ) according to the size of the pan means don't crowd the pan with more fish.
- Fry it till it become brown color.
- Make sure to fry the fishes on medium heat so that the masala doesn’t get burnt.
- Drain the fish onto paper towels.
For Anchovies(Netholi) fish Masala:
- Heat 1 tbsp of oil in another pan, splutter mustard seed and add curry leaves in it.
- Add the sliced onions and green chilies and saute until soft.
- Now add chopped tomatoes and saute well.
- Then add Red Chili Powder,Coriander Powder, Turmeric Powder,Black Pepper Powder, Garam masala powder, Ginger Garlic Paste, enough salt and continue sauteing until the onions are brown.If you need add1/4 cup of water and saute well.
- Now turn off the gas and mix the fried Anchovies(Netholi) fish with onion masala.
- Transfer the fried fish masala to a serving plate.
- Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.
- You can serve this fried Anchovies(Netholi) fish masala with Kappa puzhukku or as a side with Rice.
