Sponge Cake
INGREDIENTS:
- Eggs - 3 nos
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- All purpose flour(maida) - 1 cup
- Warm milk - 4 Tbsp
- Baking powder - 1tsp
- Vanilla extract - 1 Tbsp
- Butter - For greasing the pan
- Caramel Topping - 1 tsp
METHOD:
- Preheat the oven to 360 degree F.
- In a mixing bowl, add Eggs and beat well using a hand mixer.
- Add Sugar and beat together for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Add 4Tbsp milk and mix well.
- Add All purpose flour and Baking powder. Just make the flour to mix with the other ingredients.
- Finally add the Vanilla extract and mix again.
- Grease the baking pan and its sides with Butter.
- Pour the Cake Batter to the baking pan.
- Now place the baking pan in the oven for 20 - 25 minutes or until the tooth pick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Allow it to cool in pan for 20 minutes.
- Invert cake onto cooling rack to cool completely before applying frosting or decorating.
- Apply Caramel Topping on the top of the cake.
- Start on the side and apply a 1/4-inch-thick layer of icing, a little at a time and complete the circle.If you like, you can make beautiful designs on the top and sides of the cake with icing.
- Slice the cake in desired shape and serve.
